Can photos and Aperture share a library?
I want to share so I can use photos to back up library in iCloud but want to do all my photo work in Aperture still...is this possible?

No, Aperture cannot open a Photos Library. It is one-way only: Migrate an Aperture Library to Photos.
Once the photos or in Photos you can send them back to your Aperture Library for editing by using the command "Share > Add to Aperture", if you want o send them to Aperture for editing.
